Winners of office decorating contest announced

The Independence Economic Development Department held the city’s first office holiday decorating contest to encourage businesses in the city to spread holiday cheer and show off their offices.

“We feel its important to engage with our business community and find creative ways to interact with our businesses as well as promote them via social media,” said Economic Development Director Jessica Hyser. “There was also some thought that if businesses are decorating their offices for the holidays, it’s a sign that things are returning a bit more toward normal.”

The winning business out of three submissions was Aerotek, a recruiting and staffing agency at 6200 Oak Tree Blvd. The economic development department judged the submissions, and Aerotek sent a TikTok video showing individual employees’ decorated desks.

The company will receive a lunch for its employees, a spot in the city’s “Independence Post” publication and recognition on the city’s social media channels. ∞

Employee Ryan added digital visuals to his desk.
