History

In November 1980, the first issue of the Richfield Times was published. Sue Serdinak wrote, edited, designed, and published ScripType's flagship community newspaper. The cover article was about the development of Rising Valley Park, two years after it was acquired from the federal government. Publisher Sue Serdinak created the Richfield Times to share local news with and about the residents of Richfield. The newspaper was very well accepted and has become an integral part of the community.

In 1983 we were invited to publish the Hinckley newspaper. As with all of our magazines, we identified local residents to write and edit the stories. Today ScripType continues to publish the Hinckley Record magazine.

In 1990 we were approached by Brecksville businesses and the Broadview Heights Chamber of Commerce. We used this opportunity to introduce the magazine format that's used with our magazines today. Both magazines have been extremely successful and continue to be the main source of news and information in Brecksville and Broadview Heights.

Hudson businesses approached us in 1998 and asked for a ScripType community magazine. We were happy to add another desirable community to the ScripType family.

Sue Serdinak worked with the editor and publisher of the Bath Country Journal since its inception in 1980. Together we consistently provided local news coverage of the Bath community. From 2005 to 2008 ScripType published the Bath Herald. In August 2008 ScripType took over publishing of the Bath Country Journal and combined the content with that of the Bath Herald. Today the new Bath Country Journal is the monthly magazine of Bath.

Early in 2008, we responded to a need for a local publication in Independence. The first issue of the Independence Today was published in April 2008. In June 2010, the Sagamore Voice was started to give Sagamore Hills residents a publication they could call their own.

We recognized that Twinsburg is a thriving community. In March 2012, we added the Twinsburg Tribune for the residents of the city and township.

Currently the distribution of ScripType magazines exceeds 59,000 homes and businesses.

Serving Residents, One Community at a Time

ScripType Publishing has been bringing community news to people in Northeast Ohio for more than 30 years. We serve the communities by writing about and for the people of the communities. Our best compliment is that often readers refer to a ScripType magazine as "Our Magazine." They feel comfortable with and trust in what they read.

Our magazines serve nine very diverse and thriving communities of the Western Reserve: Richfield, Hinckley, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Hudson, Bath, Independence, Sagamore Hills and Twinsburg. One thing is very clear to us; each community is quite unique and distinctive from the others. We enjoy the diversity and work hard to capture it.
While we have embraced the electronic age and capitalize on its gifts to us, we still value our relationships with our clients and the residents of all of our communities. So, your emails to us will always be personally answered and a "real" person will always answer your phone calls. We like to hear from you and welcome your ideas and thoughts.
