April 20-23: Revere Players presents ‘The Music Man’

Posted: March 31, 2017

In the early summer of 1912, young “Professor” Harold Hill, a traveling con man, arrives in River City, Iowa, where he convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him.

His intention is to flee as soon as he receives the money, but an unexpected romance transpires with the local librarian, Marian Paroo. As Hill begins to develop feelings for Marian, he faces a difficult decision about skipping town or staying behind to be with Marian.

First performance is Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m., in the Revere High School auditorium. Subsequent performances are Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 22, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m. Presale tickets are $10 and $12 at the door for adults, $5 for Revere students and $8 for senior citizens and non-Revere students.

Tickets will be available from 3-5 p.m. on April 10-13 at the box office by the auditorium. Tickets also will be sold in the RHS cafeteria during lunch from April 17-21.

The Revere Players will host a preview performance for senior citizens on Wednesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. Complimentary breakfast will be served at 9 a.m.
