Revere Local Schools and Revere Community C.A.R.E. are partnering to hold a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Awareness Fun Run and 5K. Various agencies will have representatives on hand to share information with participants.
The event will be held at Revere High School, 3420 Everett Rd. on Sunday, April 30. Participant sign-in and same day registration begin at noon. The one-mile Fun Run starts at 1 p.m, the 5K at 2 p.m. Cost to participate is $15 for adults and $10 for children 6-13. Children 5 and under are free. The registration fee includes an event T-shirt, drawstring bag and various other promotional items. Children taking part in the Fun Run will receive a special participation medal. The day will also include entertainment and a raffle for Road ID gift certificates.
Profits will be divided between Revere Community C.A.R.E., a nonprofit organization that provides information and support regarding drug and alcohol prevention and addresses potential at-risk behavior of youth, and Teen Institute, a student-led substance abuse prevention program at the high school, where students pledge to live a sober life and share the word with others.
