Aug. 11-13: Civil War Reenactment at Hale Farm & Village

Hale Farm & Village will host Ohio’s largest annual Civil War Reenactment August 11-13. 


On Friday, Aug. 11, Hale Farm offers Civil War Education Day in partnership with the 6th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry. The event presents a sneak peek into the making of a reenactment. Children ages 7-12 can observe Union and Confederate camps and meet soldiers and civilians in period dress. Reservations are required by calling 330-666-3711, ext. 1720. 


On Saturday, Aug. 12, at 2:30 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m., visitors can experience the re-creation of the 1862  Battle of Port Republic. Over 700 reenactors will participate in the encampment. Advance tickets are available. Adult two-day admission is $15 ($10 for one day), and children’s two-day admission is $7.50 ($5 for one day). Western Reserve Historical Society members and children under age three are admitted free. Online ticket sales will be offered until noon on Aug. 11. After that date, tickets will be available at the door.
