Sept. 21: Benefit for orphanage

Posted: August 31, 2017

Hudson Fine Art Gallery and Open Door Coffee Co. will host a fundraiser, “Busting at the Seams.” The event is in conjunction with The Lesotho Connection, which partners with the St. Camillus Centre, an orphanage in the African country of Lesotho. A record number of children have come through the door, stretching resources to the max and creating an urgent need for help.

Charles and Deborah Pinnell, owners of Open Door Coffee Co. and Kathy Johnson of Hudson Fine Art & Framing Co., will host the event, organized by Chagrin Falls resident and Lesotho volunteer, Linda Henry. It will feature a wine and beer tasting with heavy hors d’oeuvres, a live African drumming demonstration and a chance to meet orphanage doctors and volunteers. The event takes place from 5:30-9 p.m. at Hudson Fine Art Gallery, which is interconnected with Open Door Coffee Co. at 164 North Main St. Tickets are $50 per person and are available at and at the door.

In addition to the open house, the fundraiser will offer a raffle to win a $5,000 Winter Escape Vacation. Raffle tickets are $50 each or three for $100. Winner need not be present to win. Purchase raffle tickets and get full details at
