Sundays in October: Richfield walking tours

Posted: September 28, 2017

Join the Richfield Historical Society on any Sunday afternoon during October and take one of the History of Richfield Walking Tours to learn about Richfield as it once was. All tours will begin at 1 p.m. and take about one hour. Participants will meet at the Historical Museum of Richfield, 3907 Broadview Rd., for all tours except the Oct. 29 walk. Guides/storytellers will lead participants on a leisurely one-mile walk.

The first tour on Oct. 1 will move along Grant Street (north), High Street, Mill Street and Broadview Road. On Oct. 8, participants will travel west on Rt. 303 to the Octagon House and back. The Oct. 15 walk will head east along Streetsboro Road to Humphrey Road and then back to the museum. On Oct. 22, participants will stroll south along Broadview Road to where the sidewalk ends and then back to the museum (on the return, hardy hikers can opt to take off on the Carter-Pedigo Trail near the Richfield Library for a self-guided side trip). The final tour will be Oct. 29 at West Richfield Cemetery on Broadview Road. Participants for this tour will meet by the flagpole at the back of the cemetery. For more information, call the museum at 330-659-0336.
