Dec. 2: Open house and silent auction supports Battered Women’s Shelter

Santa will make his grand appearance at 7 p.m. at the Serpentini Holiday Open House to benefit the Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit and Medina counties. He will remain for one hour. All children will have the opportunity to take a digital photo with Santa.


There will be special guest appearances by Miss Ohio, Miss Ohio Teen, Miss Greater Cleveland, Miss Northern Ohio, Miss Preteen Ohio, Miss North Royalton, Mr. North Royalton, Princess North Royalton, Sweetheart North Royalton, Little Miss North Royalton and Little Prince North Royalton. 


Free meals  for all children under 12 will be served along with a buffet from 5-10 p.m. and refreshments. The silent auction will include a selection of jewelry. All siblings of families, grandchildren, nieces and nephews are invited as well. 


There will be a $25 donation per family and $1 raffle tickets (or six for $5). Checks preferred. 


The grand prize is $4,500 plus restaurant/grocery gift cards valued at $450; second prize is $2,400, a one-carat diamond and gold necklace; third prize is $1,500 plus a five-year membership at Fitness 19 and a $500 weekend lease of a 2017 Infinity. 


Those unable to attend can contribute by sending a check payable to Battered Women’s Shelter to 3491 Douglas Dr., Richfield 44286. Their information will be entered in the raffle.
