April 28: Native plants: gardening with a purpose

Posted: March 30, 2018

The Twinsburg Garden Club is again partnering with Twinsburg Parks and Recreation Department to sponsor a workshop open to the public as part of the garden club’s educational series. The 2018 topic will be creating a living landscape in your yard and the workshop will take place Saturday, April 28, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Twinsburg Community Center, 10260 Ravenna Rd. Sign-in and vendor sales begin at 9 a.m. Participants can register online at or or by calling 330-963-8722, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Participants will learn about nectar, pollen and berry sources that native wildlife need in order to survive and adapt so they can resist extremes that occur in our northeastern Ohio climate. Speakers at this event include Kate Chapel of Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners, Garrett Ormiston of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Robin Christensen of the OSU Extension office of Portage County. Master Gardeners can check with their extension coordinator for continuing education credit approval.
