Emerald Woods families raise $3,000 for the needy

Forty-four families in Brecksville’s Emerald Woods neighborhood saw a need and helped fill it this holiday season.

Residents Cheryl Strenk and Marie Elias rallied neighbors to raise more than $3,000 for the annual local Yuletide Hunger and Adopt-A-Family programs.

Children Blake and Lucas Kingston and Jake, Tyler and Alexis Widmor trudged through snowy weather to collect donations door-to-door.  “Human Services Director Steve Paciorek and I both share our appreciation and gratitude to the residents of Emerald Woods for their fine example of willingness as families to make life better for others at this special time of year,” said Brecksville Mayor Jerry Hruby.
