Brecksville’s Pools Opening
The City of Brecksville is about to dedicate its newly constructed additions to the Brecksville Community Center’s Jack A. Hruby Natatorium. The beautiful Indoor Activity Pool and the Outdoor Aquatics Center will be christened on Sunday, May 30. at 1 p.m.
The ceremony will include recognition of honored guests and a few words from those involved in the planning of this project. Following the dedication, a number of Brecksville residents will be the first and only individuals that day to use the indoor and outdoor features.
These lucky people were selected from those who registered for a raffle to be the first to experience the facilities’ features. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, residents may walk around the new facilities. Punch and cookies will be served and the viewing of the two dedicated facilities will be open until 3:00 pm.
On Memorial Day, May 31, from noon-6 p.m., only those residents only who signed up early for community center memberships will be invited to enjoy the new indoor activity pool and outdoor aquatics center. Each member will be notified by email.
This was a promise made to those residents who signed up in December for a 2021 membership. It is the city’s thank you to those who supported the community center by signing up early. Entry will be restricted to those with the proper credentials on Memorial Day.
Parking will be available at the Community Center, with overflow parking at the Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church adjacent to Kids Quarters. Please enter via Community Center Drive and not the Church’s parking lot entrance.
The two new facilities will be closed on Tuesday, June 1 and Wednesday, June 2, due to COVID-19 restrictions that will still be in place. On Thursday, June 3 both facilities will be open from 11a.m.- 8 p.m. without COVID restrictions.
June 3 is a welcome back day and celebration of the end of the school year. The recreation department is planning many special happenings throughout the summer, including nighttime events. Please review the city website at brecksville.oh.us for operating hours and notices.
Information regarding guest passes for Brecksville residents or those accompanied by a Community Center member can also be found on the website, along with rental opportunities, pool use suggestions and rules and regulations.
The menu for the concession stand that is located in back of the indoor pool will be posted as well. Parking will be available at the community center, with overflow parking at designated spots at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, adjacent to Kids Quarters. Please enter the church lot via Community Center Drive and not the church’s parking lot entrance.
If those parking lots are filled, please use the library or city hall parking lots.∞
