Summit County Sheriff’s office announces online CCW scheduling, payment

After opening a concealed carry weapon license processing station within the Summit County Title Bureau Office in Akron, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office is further streamlining the CCW process with online accessibility.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, new scheduling and payment software was implemented for those applying for or renewing a concealed carry permit. The office partnered with Permitium LLC, a designer specializing in web-based law enforcement services, to create the software.
Applicants can now schedule a CCW appointment, upload necessary documents, submit a photo ID and make a payment online before their appointment.
“This new system will shorten and simplify the appointment process, which will also allow deputies to see more applicants each day,” the release stated. “Additionally, it will allow sheriff’s office staff the ability to get an earlier start on the background check process, resulting in shorter wait times for applicants to receive their license.”
Appointments can be scheduled by clicking “concealed carry” under the information tab at sheriff.summitoh.net or through the sheriff’s office mobile app.∞
