Scouts learn ATV skills as part of safety course
Scouts from BSA Troop 652 for Girls took the All-Terrain Vehicle Rider Safety Course during an event offered by Boy Scouts of America, Lake Erie Council March 19.
Troop 652G, a BSA troop for girls, participated in a weekend-long event where they learned outdoor skills and earned merit badges. A highlight of the weekend was taking Lake Erie Council’s ATV Rider Safety Course.
During the course, participants age 14+ learned and practiced safe riding of ATVs. The weather was wet, the ground was muddy, and the course was fun and exciting, Scouts said.
BSA Troop 652G, chartered by St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Brecksville, was established on Feb. 1, 2019, and recently celebrated its third anniversary of Scouting. It is an active troop for girls ages 11-17 that enjoy camping, canoeing, hiking, shooting sports and other outdoor activities.
