Brecksville to celebrate Earth Day on April 21
Spring means Earth Day and the Brecksville Horticulture Department invites you to celebrate with them on Sunday, April 21, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the city’s horticulture building, 6916 Stadium Dr.
This year’s theme is, “Planet vs. Plastics.”
See how the city’s horticulture team makes Brecksville beautiful year-round and check out the equipment they use. Plus, there will be guest speakers, a poster contest for kids and giveaways.
Attendees also will be able to donate gently used clothing, books and other items for “upcycling,” also known as creative reuse.
Residents are also invited to get ready for Earth Day on Monday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at the Human Services Center, 2 Community Dr., where Carin Miller of the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District will present “Recycle Right.” Miller will inform residents about what recycling items they should put at the curb to be collected by the service department and what items aren’t recyclable. ∞
