Plant Love Botanicals brings clean skincare products to Brecksville

When Rebecca Weisberger first started on her journey of making natural and clean aromatherapy and skincare products, her motivation was to find better options for her personal use. Several years later, her shop, Plant Love Botanicals, opened its doors in downtown Brecksville.

“I’ve always suffered from insomnia and I was looking for a more natural approach,” she said. “I didn’t like the side effects of the prescription stuff that left me feeling all groggy so I started doing some research and learned more about essential oils so I could make products for myself. After a while, I became a certified aromatherapist and started making stuff for friends and family. I received a lot of positive feedback and my friends and family encouraged me to start selling my products.”

For roughly five years, Weisberger sold her products online. She also consigned them out of a handful of boutiques and sold them at different events and shows.

She opened Plant Love Botanicals, her first brick and mortar shop, back in September at 8912 Brecksville Rd.

“I wanted to open a brick and mortar shop because I think people like to be able to smell the products before buying them and they like to see the consistency of what they are going to be putting on their skin,” she said.

Weisberger said having the store allows her to offer other products besides her own. She offers a number of wholesale products from women-owned small businesses, such as handbags, pottery, jewelry and candles.

“I live not far from Brecksville and I have just always liked downtown Brecksville,” she said. “It’s quaint and a great location and the space was a perfect size for me.”

Weisberger’s skincare and aromatherapy products are small batch and handcrafted, made out of plant-based ingredients and infused with crystals.

“We find that crystals enhance the energy of the essential oils and other ingredients which is beneficial for the skin,” she said. “I think there are a lot of people who really want to use clean products like this so they know what they are putting on their bodies. They want it not only in skincare, but also in laundry detergents and cleaning products. I think there is a need for these types of products.”

Weisberger said one of her most popular products is a sleeping mist.

“This is something you can mist on your pillows and sheets or just in the room in general to help promote sleep,” she said. “Also very popular is our anxiety roller and also we have a nice rosemary body scrub that is a customer favorite.”

But Weisberger said she was pleasantly surprised over how much business she has received in the shop, especially over the holidays.

“Over the holidays we did really well,” she said. “The one challenge is a lot of people aren’t aware I’m here.”

Plant Love Botanicals also has pages on Facebook and Instragram.

“I am always updating with new products that we have and if we have an event, people will be able to find information on our social media pages,” she said.

Plant Love Botanicals is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ∞
