Celebrating the graduating class of 2024: a legacy of kindness

On May 23, the Nordonia Hills City Schools’ class of 2024 graduated. The graduates embraced the class motto: “No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind,” inspired by Taylor Swift’s words.

The graduates have dedicated 14,836 hours to community service, reflecting the school district’s mission to develop academically capable and compassionate citizens.

Academically, the class of 2024 has achieved remarkable success with 114 students recognized as Graduates of Distinction for maintaining a GPA of 3.75 and above; 53 students earning Graduates of Merit with GPAs between 3.35 and 3.749; 92 students earning Academic or Career Tech Honors Diplomas; and 25 AP Capstone Scholars, demonstrating their commitment to rigorous academic pursuits.

Outside the classroom, the students have excelled as well. Nine members have been inducted into the National Vocational Technical Honor Society, and 59 into the National Honor Society. Furthermore, 21 graduates have earned the Seal of Biliteracy, showcasing their proficiency in multiple languages. The class has an average GPA of 3.41.

In the future, 82.6% of the graduates plan to pursue higher education, 2% will join the military, 10.6% will enter the workforce, and the rest are still considering their next path. These different paths reflect the students’ diverse talents and aspirations.

The class of 2024 has achieved significant milestones, including earning over $10.7 million in scholarships. Notable accomplishments include having a National Merit Scholarship winner, a National Merit Commended Student, a published author and a student who has earned an associate’s degree while still in high school.

The class motto embodies the values the school hopes the students will carry into the world. As the graduates embark on their next journeys, the school trusts they will uphold these values, leaving a legacy of kindness and making the community proud.

We look forward to these individuals’ bright futures. Congratulations to the Nordonia Hills City Schools class of 2024! May you continue to strive for excellence, lead with compassion and leave a legacy of kindness wherever you go. ∞
