Information provided by the Sagamore Hills Police Department
July 1—A resident turned in a license plate he found in his garbage. Police traced the plate to the vehicle owner, who said her rear license plate was missing. Using Flock cameras, police found that the plate had been stolen and duct taped on another vehicle.
July 1—Macedonia Fire Department requested police check Houghton Road for a pickup truck that made contact with the mirror of the department ambulance. No truck was found.
July 3—Officers were dispatched to a Chesapeake Drive home for report of an unresponsive male. Officer Glenn Lucore used an AED to shock the male until the Macedonia Fire Department arrived and took him to the hospital.
July 4—Police responded to an Apple Hill Drive residence for report of property damage. The male said he believed his girlfriend, from whom he is separated, slashed his daughter’s bike tires and destroyed foliage in his yard.
July 5—Officers responded to an altercation in the roadway on St. Lawrence Circle. Three girls reportedly drove to a party on the street with the intention of fighting one of the girls at the party.
July 6—Sagamore police performed a welfare check on a suicidal female at a South Boyden Road residence. Officers forced entry into the home to find the female barely conscious. She was transported to the hospital.
July 7—A male was charged with felonious assault after getting into a fight with a resident in a parking lot on Eaton Drive. The victim had serious facial injuries as a result of the altercation.
July 8—A resident reported stalking and telecommunications harassment from a female friend. She was advised not to contact him through phone or in person.
July 9—Police dispatched an injured deer on W. Highland Road after it had been struck by a vehicle.
July 9—During a traffic stop on Valley View Road, the driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for OVI.
July 11—Police responded to a noise complaint of a barking dog at a Canyon View Road home and found an elderly woman lying on her side in the garage. She was pronounced dead by a doctor from the Ahuja Medical Center. No foul play was suspected.
July 17—A township “no parking” sign was struck in the front yard of an Eaton Drive home.
July 18—The driver of a suspicious vehicle in Sagamore Square was arrested for OVI.
July 21—Officers performed a welfare check on a Greenwood Parkway resident whose family was concerned when her boyfriend had made threats against her. The female did not want to press charges.
July 23—A Nesbit Road resident reported all four of his car tires were slashed overnight while the car was in the driveway. No suspect was named.
July 23—Police responded to a disturbance between a couple on Mottl Reserve Drive.
July 28—Officers responded to a W. Aurora Road home for a welfare check on a juvenile. Due to her medical diagnoses, the juvenile was transported to a hospital. ∞
