Mayor’s Corner by Mayor Michael Wheeler

Both Route 303 and Brush Road will be closed by ODOT for 90 days due to the widening of Interstate 77.

Colonial Pharmacy will be at Village Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 9-11 a.m., administering flu shots for the 2024-25 season. No appointment is necessary. Bring your health insurance card.

I want to thank all who helped make the Community Day weekend a big success. We had a successful parade and after party. Kudos to Meridian Sun Masonic Lodge for organizing the parade. The Swizzle Sticks Band once again did a great job with the entertainment afterward.

Thanks to Sons of Amvets and Meridian Sun Lodge for a fantastic steak fry on Saturday. Attendance may have been the highest in years.

More families than ever were at Community Day on Sunday. Special thanks to all those who helped make the event a big success, especially to Chairperson Ruth Jocek and Bath-Richfield Kiwanis, as well as John Piepsny, Laura Toth, the parks and recreation department, and the police, fire and service personnel.

Have a happy, safe and blessed Labor Day!  If you are traveling, please drive defensively. Remember allowing a little more time to get home safely doesn’t hurt anyone.
