Brecksville hosts citywide garage sale

If one man’s trash is another’s treasure, the city of Brecksville was the place to be Aug. 24 as dozens of homeowners participated in the community’s annual citywide garage sale.

Shoppers, who were either visitors, or residents themselves to the city of Brecksville, pulled up to houses posted with signs and balloons showing their participation. Most locations had items for sale scattered throughout their yards and garages, pricing items to move. Not only were there hundreds of books to be found, but there were videos, kitchenware and clothing galore. There were also larger items featured at many of the houses, including patio sets, household furniture, televisions and tools.

After the day was done, several of those who participated in the event said they planned to donate items that weren’t sold to the Appalachian Collection hosted by St. Basil’s church. ∞

Some of the deals ranged from useful and everyday household goods to holiday decorations and a whimsical trinket or two. Photos by Tia Began.
