Aug. 10 – A 28-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested on OVI charge after Sagamore Police contacted Brecksville Police to report that a vehicle, which had heavy front, rear and side damage, was traveling erratically along state Route 82. The driver was pulled over near the Brecksville town center where she told police she was at a wedding where she lost her phone and subsequently got lost. After performing poorly on sobriety tests, she was taken into custody and transported to the North Royalton Jail where she was found to have a BAC of 0.248.
Aug. 10 – Police responded to a traffic accident on Brecksville Road, north of Fitzwater Road, in which a passenger in one of the vehicles had an active felony warrant for her arrest issued by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. The woman was taken into custody and later turned over to sheriff’s deputies.
Aug. 13 – The driver of a gray Jeep was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police pulled him over on Interstate 77 near Oakes Road for traveling in excess of 80 mph in a 60-mph zone. Police said the driver did not have his license in his possession, and the officer discovered the man failed to reinstate his license. He was also found to have a warrant issued by Bedford Police on a traffic offense. He was turned over to the custody of Bedford Police.
Aug. 22 – Police were dispatched to Wallings Road after receiving a report of a single-car motor vehicle crash. The complainant reported that the driver was attempting to leave the scene. At the crash site, police observed a Chevrolet Corvette that sustained heavy disabling damage and said it appeared that it went off the north side of the roadway, striking a mailbox and a guardrail. The suspect, who was found to have a laceration above his right eye, was located approximately a quarter-mile from the crash site. He was arrested on OVI charges after performing poorly on sobriety tests and transported to the North Royalton Jail. ∞
