Superintendent’s Corner – Casey Wright

As we look forward to the 2024-2025 school year, I am thrilled to share some important initiatives aimed at improving student engagement and success in our district. This year, our focus is on fostering collaboration and community involvement to establish a supportive and enriching environment for our students.

September is Attendance Awareness Month across Ohio, and we are excited to announce our partnership with the Cleveland Browns and the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network. This initiative focuses on promoting good student attendance and building a culture of engagement within our schools. Regular attendance is crucial for academic success, and this partnership will help us reinforce that message.

We encourage everyone in our community—students, families, caregivers, teachers, staff and community members—to get involved. By taking the SITG Pledge, you can show your support for our students’ educational journeys. Those who take the pledge will also have the opportunity to win exciting prizes! Our goal is to create an environment where every student feels encouraged and motivated to attend school regularly, benefiting from peer learning opportunities, incentives, as well as engaging activities like mascot visits and event tickets.

Another highlight this month is the Safe Decisions Community Fair, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Nordonia High School’s Boliantz Stadium. This event will lead into our homecoming game against the Twinsburg Tigers at 7 p.m. We are working closely with the Nordonia Hills Rotary Club and State Farm Insurance to make Safe Decisions Week an exceptional experience for our students.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our community partners who make these initiatives possible. The Cleveland Browns, the SITG Attendance Network, the Nordonia Hills Rotary Club and State Farm Insurance have shown incredible dedication to our students’ wellbeing and success. Your support is invaluable and strengthens our efforts to provide the best possible educational experience for every student in our district.

Thank you for being an integral part of our community and our mission to ensure the success of every Nordonia student. ∞
