Trustees appoint resident to water board

Sept. 16 special township trustees meeting

Sagamore Hills trustees appointed resident Mike Cunningham to the North Hills water board.

The North Hills Water District is a governmental authority that owns the water mains and hydrants that deliver water from Cleveland to many residents within Sagamore and Northfield Center townships.

Seven representatives make up the board: three from Sagamore Hills, three from Northfield Center and one that pivots between the townships on a rotating basis. Members discuss water projects, fire hydrants and take action to resolve water main breaks.

Former board member Carol Lewis of Sagamore Hills vacated her seat when she was appointed to the township zoning commission earlier this year. Trustee David DePasquale said Cunningham had written a letter of interest in becoming more active in the community. He will fill Lewis’ remaining term, which ends Dec. 31, 2025, and have the opportunity to reappointed for a three-year term. ∞
