This letter is to clarify a few points in the ad, “Country Over Party.” Immigration “policy” has allowed millions of illegal aliens “… bringing with them deadly drugs like fentanyl, gang and cartel violence and egregious human suffering into our communities.” (Heritage Foundation, Oct 19, 2024). We give many of them free healthcare, housing and incredibly, the right to vote.
Most baffling was the “Reagan/Bush White House lawyers” supposedly quoted as supporting a candidate diametrically opposed to Reagan’s beliefs. In direct contrast to the big, invasive government under Biden/Harris, Reagan stated in his inaugural address, “It is no coincidence that our present troubles parallel and are proportionate to the intervention and intrusion in our lives that result from unnecessary and excessive growth of government. …” In addition, President Reagan was vehemently against Socialism and Communism, which he knew brought economic/social collapse. Harris and Walz are known Socialists. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La) called them the “most radical leftwing ticket in American History.” Reagan said, “The only morality [Marxists-Leninists] recognize is that which will further their cause, which is world revolution” (Reagan, 1983).
One of the most questionable assertions was a goal for “economic policy that strengthens the middle class.” A rational look at our economy controverts that entirely, with the middle class suffering from skyrocketing costs in gas, utilities, food, etc., and 50% of the middle class living pay check to pay check.
Harris received no delegate votes in a primary “by the people.”
