Township Corner

After many years of dedicated service, our road foremen Jerry Schall has decided to retire. Don Rentz will move up to take over that position and we have hired Richfield resident David Chaney to work with Don starting Nov. 4.

I, along with my fellow trustees, hired Jerry more than 20 years ago. Taking care of our residents’ needs has always been a top priority for our road department. Getting up in the middle of the night to plow snow or remove fallen trees is not much fun, but Jerry and the guys have always come through. We have one seasonal road worker, and Jerry has offered to lend a hand if needed. The trustees and staff wish Jerry and his wife, Mary Beth, the best of luck in his retirement. He will be missed as a new phase in their life begins.

Don and the guys have been getting equipment ready for snow. Our salt budget is way ahead due to the light snowfall last year. You never know about Ohio weather, but the guys will be ready. Please be a little more cautious on the roads as the weather changes and stay safe.
