Oct. 4—Police made a traffic stop on Rockside Road for a car with excessively tinted windows. The driver had a suspended license and a firearm in the vehicle. Due to conflicting records on his criminal history, police seized the firearm.
Oct. 7—A female was cited for disorderly conduct at a Quarry Lane hotel for refusing to leave the property.
Oct. 12—A female was arrested for engaging in prostitution at a Rockside Road hotel.
Oct. 18—Independence police conducted an operation comprised of members of the detective bureau and patrol division to target sex sellers and buyers. At a Rockside Place hotel, police made six arrests of people engaging in prostitution, three of which were also in possession of criminal tools. At a Quarry Lane hotel on the same date, two people were arrested for engaging in prostitution.
Oct. 19—Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on I-77S. The vehicle was demolished, and the car struck an Ohio Department of Transportation light pole. The driver had minor injuries and was cited for OVI.
Oct. 25—Police were given a tip that there was possible prostitution and drug activity occurring at a Quarry Lane hotel. They tracked down the vehicle of a male who recently visited a hotel room that several males were seen visiting for short periods of time. Police arrested the female in the room for prostitution, and the male that was found was issued a criminal summons for engaging in prostitution.
Oct. 25—A female was arrested for engaging in prostitution at a Quarry Lane hotel. The arrest was predicated based on a complaint from a hotel guest who suspected sex buying and selling at the hotel.
Oct. 26—Another female was arrested for prostitution at a Quarry Lane hotel, and the arrest was based on a call from a hotel guest who suspected prostitution.
