Council approves acceptance of county road funds

Members of Broadview Heights City Council at their Nov. 5 meeting passed a resolution to accept 50/50 funding from Cuyahoga County to be put toward the cost of the 2025 Avery Road Improvement Project.
The project, to pave the southernmost section of Avery Road between West Royalton Road and Oakes Road, is expected to include installation of new storm sewers.
In an Oct. 17 letter to Mayor Sam Alai, Chief Section Engineer Eric Mack for the Department of Public Works, indicated the city would receive up to a maximum of $150,000 for the paving project, with a total estimated construction cost by the county listed at $300,000.
In other action, council approved:
- An agreement with Alpha-Lit Cleveland for a Winterfest Display set up at a cost of $550.
- An agreement with Gerow Equipment for the purchase of a backup pool pump for the recreation department at a cost of $14,995.
- An agreement with Medwerks, dba Crossroads Ambulance, for the purchase of a 2026 Ford E-450 ambulance prep chassis for the fire department at a total cost $179,945, including remount and all equipment updates.
- An agreement with The Baldwin Group Inc. for mayor’s court base software and modules at a cost of $3,167.
- An agreement with The Baldwin Group Inc. for a mayor’s court word template module at a cost of $3,565. ∞
