Historical Society seeking ancestral information for 2026 national celebration
The Richfield Historical Society is already gearing up for the 250th anniversary (Semiquincentennial) of our nation in 2026. Plans are in the works for multiple events.
At the Richfield Historical Museum volunteers will construct a Wall of Fame to record patriots of the Revolutionary War that are related to members of our community. If you have a patriot in your family and would like to have them honored on the Wall of Fame, call the society at 330-659-0336. You can also call or text Reggie Taussig at 330-888-3101.
The society members consider a patriot to be those who fought in, or supported, the Revolutionary War. Society members will assist anyone who thinks they have a family member who was active in the war effort.
Fun fact: Dwayne Gentner, one of the society’s trustees, is related to Oliver Wolcott, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He is Gentner’s first cousin, 9 times removed
