Township Corner
News
The trustees and residents who live on Summit County roads were disappointed to learn this summer that the county was discontinuing its long-held practice of mowing the roadsides. I am pleased to report that the county will mow twice in the summer of 2025 and will have a transition plan after 2025. Thanks to the Township Association of Summit County and the county engineer’s office for addressing this critical issue.
The Ohio Revised Code requires a biennial audit of our financial records. Our last full audit was for 2016 – 2017 because Ohio’s auditor permitted us to use an abbreviated audit for three biennial periods. Our next audit was scheduled to cover 2024-2025.
The trustees and Fiscal Officer Vik Sandhu are requesting a one-year audit for 2024. We are doing this because we have changed accounting systems, which was a substantial undertaking. This makes certain that Vik begins with audited balances. We do not anticipate any problems.
The new Briarwood development is almost complete. The development agreement requires Pulte Homes to restore construction-damaged Briarwood Road and a portion of Whitethorn Circle. We will begin coordinating with Pulte, the county engineer, the village, and residents (whom we thank for your patience) to ensure the best outcome.
