Application open for garden club scholarship

The Hudson Garden Club awards the Genevieve Jyurovat Scholarships to encourage and assist Hudson students who plan to major in a field connected to the environmental sciences. These fields extend beyond horticulture and landscape design to include areas of environmental study such as sustainability, pollution control, climate change and water management. The award is for study at a recognized center, school or college leading to either a degree or an associate degree.

Eligible students must reside in the Hudson City School District, but may attend either public or private schools. Home-schooled students must have completed the final year of education at home or hold a certificate of high school equivalency. Enrolled college students who are in an accredited college, have declared an appropriate major and meet the same residence requirement are also eligible.

To apply, visit the Hudson Garden Club website hudsongardenclub.org and click on Scholarship. Fill out the application online, download copies of all the items requested and submit.The deadline for submission is March 1.
