Mayor’s Corner
New Year & Gratitude
As we close out 2024, it is my hope that everyone had the opportunity to enjoy the year-end holiday season, spend cherished moments with family and friends, as well as find some time to relax, reflect and move into the New Year with a positive mindset.
As a city, we accomplished much in 2024, and looking into 2025, there are many plans to ensure that Hudson remains an amazing place to live, work, visit, attend school and raise a family. As such, I would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to all who help make this possible.
Thank you to all of the organizations in town, who spend countless hours and resources to help organize and coordinate many of the events and programs for the residents of our community. Sharing knowledge, spreading joy and connecting people are key aspects of a healthy and prosperous community.
Thank you to our local merchants and businesses who operate in our charming and historic city. Another key aspect to a vibrant local economy is the strength of our business community. Thank you for being a part of our amazing city and thank you for your investment and commitment to Hudson.
To the residents of Hudson, thank you for choosing to put down roots and for supporting the Live, Love, Local initiative here in Hudson. Thank you to all of the parents and guardians that have children attending any of our local learning institutions, from pre-k through high-school, and thank you as well to all of the educators and staff who help care for and teach our youth. Our children are our community’s most valuable and precious asset.
Thank you to all of the city staff, employees and volunteers. As I tell groups that I speak to often, there are many people within the city and behind the scenes that do so much to help keep Hudson safe, running smoothly and moving into the future. Thank you for the time you spend, both during normal working hours, as well as in the evenings and on the weekends, to serve the residents of Hudson.
Thank you to everyone who help support and donate to various charitable organizations, and to everyone who donated to the Cold Weather Clothing drive. Those items collected will go directly to those in need, right here in Summit County. A special thank you to a longtime Hudson toy manufacturer, who along with their employees, donated almost 400 pairs of socks – an example of how a good deed can make a positive impact as well as encourage others to help spread kindness.
In closing and as I referenced in a recent city council meeting, it is my goal that this new year will focus on additional projects and programs that help continue the work of the city and to ultimately serve the best interests of the residents of Hudson, as we have been collectively hired, elected and entrusted to do so.Thank you and Happy New Year.
