Revere notes
For the past couple of months, Richfield Elementary students have led the Pledge of Allegiance at Revere board of education meetings. In December, the K-2 kids came up with a new approach.
Part of the learning process at Richfield is mastering American Sign Language to communicate with fellow students who have hearing issues.
In December, Samer Rinehart’s class was chosen to lead the pledge, and the kids did so both orally and using sign language.
“Mrs. Rinehart’s class took it upon themselves to learn the Pledge of Allegiance in American Sign Language,” said Richfield Principal Tara Kieser. “They did a video last month and I saw it, and I was so proud of them.”
Members of Rinehart’s class who participated: Cyrus Bachmann, Athena Beech, Sawyer Clink, Vera DallaRiva, Aurora Edwards, Mathew Hafer, Thomas Henkel, Hadas Humphrey, Leah Jam, Ean Kelly, Elle Kjos, Hunter Kline, Sloane Kopko, Cooper Lee, Elliana Merolla, Henry Morris, Afia Nuamah, Jackson Pruchnicki, Katherine Pruchnicki, Tucker Pruchnicki, Declan Smith, Thomas Stretar, Avery Stricko, Everett Tyrrel and Bennett White.
The Richfield Elementary librarian Nicole Green won the Outstanding District Educator Award, and Richfield Assistant Principal Bryan Petsche was the recipient of the Helping Hand Award. Both honors are given by the Richfield Elementary PTA.
Bath Elementary PTA raised $17,901 at its annual fundraiser. Proceeds will go toward enhancing the Bath playground and land lab.Revere High School senior and baritone saxophone player, Kallie Raubenolt, performed with the Ohio Band Directors Conference Honors Band held at The University of Akron. She submitted a recorded performance and was chosen from among applicants throughout the state of Ohio.
