Police Beat
Dec. 3—Police were dispatched to a Quarry Lane hotel for a welfare check when a female guest was screaming inside her room. She had an active warrant out of Independence for failure to appear for a sex offense and an active warrant out of Parma for failure to appear for larceny. She was taken to Independence jail.
Dec. 8—Two females were arrested for engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools at two different Quarry Lane hotels. Two other females were arrested for prostitution at Quarry Lane hotels. The arrests were predicated on an operation targeting sex sellers in the city.
Dec. 8—Officers responded to a Quarry Lane restaurant for report of a female on site after being told not to return for refusing to pay for her meals. She had a felony warrant with Cuyahoga County and was arrested and taken to the county office.
Dec. 15—At a Quarry Lane hotel parking lot, police found a vehicle with a variety of drug paraphernalia including glass smoking pipes, cooking caps, cut straws, rubber tourniquets and syringes. The female present in the vehicle was cited for possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.
Dec. 16—During a traffic stop on I-77 S, police K9 Hank alerted police to crack cocaine within the vehicle that was pulled over. The female in the vehicle was cited for attempted drug abuse.
Dec. 16—A female was evicted from a Rockside Road hotel after exhibiting disorderly conduct in the lobby. Independence paramedics took the female to the hospital because she said she has manic bipolar disorder and was having a mental health crisis.
