Police Beat
Dec. 4—A female called police stating her ex-boyfriend came to her home on Kiltie Lane, pushed her down the stairs, stole her phone and drove away. She refused to press charges.
Dec. 4—Sagamore police assisted Macedonia Fire Department, National Park Service and Summit Metroparks in locating and rescuing three individuals that fell into a ravine at Brandywine Falls. Only one of the three individuals was injured.
Dec. 8—A male and female were cited for disorderly conduct after fighting at their Kiltie Lane home.
Dec. 9—Officers responded to Orchard Grove Road for report of a vehicle being stuck in a ditch. The driver was cited for OVI.
Dec. 9—Police went to a Dartmouth Trail residence for report of a possible deceased body. The 88-year-old woman in the home appeared to have passed away in her sleep.
Dec. 10—Officers dispatched an injured deer on Valley View Road.
Dec. 10—A single vehicle accident occurred at Dunham and Houghton roads. The car had been driven into a ditch, but maneuvered out and drove to a relative’s home on Canterbury Lane. The driver was not present, but will receive a citation for failure to control and expired plates.
Dec. 14—Sagamore police assisted Macedonia Fire with a medical emergency at Greenwood Parkway. A female was unresponsive and her husband started CPR. Macedonia medics got a pulse back on the woman and transported her to the hospital.
Dec. 14—A resident reported identity theft after an unknown person obtained her social security number on the dark web, according to a credit monitoring service. Additionally, she had to have two credit cards reissued in November due to fraudulent purchases.
Dec. 17—Police responded to a North Gannett residence for report of a mentally disable male acting irate. He was taken to Akron Summa Hospital for evaluation.
Dec. 18—A reckless driver was reported on state Route 82. The female driver was charged with OVI and open container in a vehicle.
Dec. 19—Officers observed a disabled vehicle with heavy front-end damage on Waterside Drive. The female driver was cited for OVI. Brecksville police reported the vehicle caused damage to signage on Riverview Road near state Route 82 in their city.
Dec. 21—A resident reported her son’s snowboard stolen from a W. Highland Road ski resort.
Dec. 22—Police responded to a disturbance at Greenwood Parkway. A female and male engaged in an argument over the male spending time with the female’s neighbor.
Dec. 23—A man was found deceased in his Rehwinkle Road home. The death was determined to be from natural causes.
Dec. 23—Officers responded to an Eaton Ridge Drive home for report of theft. Ten boxes of furniture and other items were delivered to a resident in her apartment building and two were stolen.
Dec. 26—Two vehicles on Olde 8 Road struck each other head on when one vehicle was driving the wrong way on the road. The driver of the vehicle going the wrong way was cited for OVI, which was later changed to operation in willful or wanton disregard of the safety of persons or property.Dec. 30—Officers responded to a disturbance complaint between a male and female at a West Hill Drive residence.
