City disputes media reports on Life Center purchase

The city of Hudson issued a Jan. 19 press release, stating it “is not currently in negotiations with Life Center Plus or the city of Stow regarding a recreation center.”

“Unfortunately, several media reports have incorrectly stated that the city is in talks about a joint recreation center. This is simply not true,” City Manager Thomas Sheridan said in the release. “We have established a committee to explore various options, including discussions with neighboring cities to learn about their recreation centers. Currently, Life Center Plus is not being considered as a solution.”

As part of last year’s comprehensive plan process, the press release went on to explain, residents identified a recreation center as one of the amenities they would like to see in Hudson. In response, it said, city council formed a committee to begin exploring possibilities.

“This process involves evaluating potential amenities, identifying suitable locations, estimating costs, and determining financing options. The city is still in the early stages of this effort, and no decisions have been made regarding how Hudson will proceed,” the release said. ∞
