Normalize kindness during Random Acts of Kindness Week
Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Week returns to Hudson, Feb. 2-8, as area organizations ask residents to “Make kindness the norm” and celebrate by doing a kind deed.
The following community activities are planned:
- Mailboxes will be delivered to Hudson City Schools, Hudson Montessori and Seton Catholic School so that students can “mail” letters of kindness to community helpers, senior citizens and friends.
- Hudson League for Service members will distribute posters and small flyers to Hudson businesses, and Mayor Jeffrey Anzevino will share small flyers with RAK around town.
- Hudson Food Pantry donation boxes will be available in local businesses.
- Western Reserve Academy will put together activity bags that will be available in the children’s section of the library.
- McDowell Early Learning and Ellsworth Hill students will make posters sharing kind messages. Builders Club and Hudson High School Service Learning students will hang the posters for Hudson Middle and High School students to enjoy.
- Hudson Community Foundation will put together gift bags to hand out at the Hudson Senior Network Foundation event scheduled in mid-February.
- Hudson League for Service and Hudson High School’s National Arts Honors Society will create cards that will be distributed by the library to Hudson’s homebound neighbors.
The Hudson League for Service, which spearheads RAK activities locally, encourages residents to look for their own moments of random kindness throughout the week and consider posting a photo of their kind acts on a social media platform with the tag #HudsonRAK.
