Highland High School senior Cadence Heaton was named the Kiwanis Club of Medina Student of the Month

Cadence was recognized for her leadership skills, illustrated through her involvement in various clubs and activities. She has served as a member of Hinkley Highlanders for 10 years, first joining in 2015 and serving as secretary, coordinator and president. She is a social media manager for the school’s color guard and speech and debate and is a business team leader for robotics. 

Cadence thrives academically, taking multiple honors classes. She also takes College Credit Plus courses at Tri-C. Cadence’s honors include four varsity letters, several SWARM awards, and community service honors from Volunteering Opportunities for Teens and Miss Ohio America. She has volunteered over 450 hours to community service organizations, such as Medina County Pet PALS and A Kid Again Northern Ohio.Cadence is the daughter of Tammy Heaton of Hinckley. After graduation, she plans to finish her program through Tri-C and further her education to become an intervention specialist.
