Kim Paulett and her son both worked several years to reach the finish line of earning a degree they had long wanted.

Paulett, had worked in the nursing home field, and wanted to be a nursing home administrator. During COVID she decided to go back to college. Armed with an associate degree in business from Akron University, she started her pursuit to earn a degree in long-term care.

Paulett learned that YSU was one of a few schools in Ohio that offered a degree in nursing home administration. YSU required 1,000 hours of internship to earn that degree. While Paulett pursued getting those hours, she also worked for the Cleveland Browns.

Her youngest son, Michael Scolaro, toured Youngstown State as a senior in high school and eventually enrolled in their mechanical engineering school.

On graduation day at Youngstown State, Paulett and Scolaro walked across the stage together.

Now, she is preparing to take the federal exam for licensed nursing home administrators with plans to put LNHA behind her name.

Paulett and Scolaro both graduated from Revere High School, as did his sister, Emily, and their dad, Keith Scolaro. Keith passed away in 2019.

Paulett’s two older children, Tucker and Hannah, graduated from Hoban High School.

Congratulations to Michael Angelo’s Winery. They were recently awarded 14 medals at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

Opening on Broadview Road in 2018, the winery has expanded both their physical buildings and their vineyards. Congratulation on their success.

Many people have memories of seeing Hulk Hogan wrestle at the Coliseum with the World Wrestling Federation. He returned to Richfield, and several other places in Northeast Ohio, on the first week in February, promoting a beer.

True North gas station on Wheatley Road invited Hogan to stop on his promotional tour of Real American Beer. Over 100 people stopped in to get his autograph and have their photo taken with him.  Hogan greeted Mayor Michael Wheeler and presented him with a hat promoting Real American Beer. Jimmy Hart, Hogan’s longtime manager and former member of the rock band, The Gentrys, accompanied him on the tour.
