Township Corner
The final phase to complete the paving of roads this summer in Glencairn Forest will include Braemer and Gullane drives, Aviemore Way, Heather Lane, and Stewart Court. In addition, Pulte Homes will restore construction-damaged Briarwood Road and West Whitethorn Circle, and we will fix the culverts and re-chip Farnham, Hecker, and Stubbins roads. We appreciate your patience and understanding of these necessary inconveniences.
Our Land Use Plan update began in January with stakeholder interviews and a committee meeting. The ad in this publication will provide upcoming meeting dates.
As I recently paid my property tax bill, the sharp increase from last year’s bill was dismaying. The township provides essential services like police and fire protection, EMS, maintenance, paving and plowing for 16 miles of roads, trash hauling, and more. It is important to note that our portion of your tax bill is only about 18% for most residents, and our rate of increase has been less than the total. We are committed to excellent services at the most efficient cost.
We began 2024 with $2,037,412 in cash reserves and ended it with $2,059,269. We are financially solid and stable. Our website has our annual financial reports.
Thankfully, our zoning commission and board of zoning appeals have full complements of regular members. Both need alternate members. Terms for alternates are for one year. Please email me if you’d like to try either one.
