About Town
James Carson, a sophomore from Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, recently won an array of prestigious music awards, both locally and and on the international stage. Carson is the Schumacher Young Artist Competition winner for 2025 and, accordingly, will be featured as the soloist in two concerts being performed by the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra May 3-4. He is also the winner for the Suburban Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Concerto Competition 2025 and will be featured during the corresponding concert on May 18.
Carson was named a grand finalist in the 2024 Piano Star International Competition and is selected to perform at the winner’s concert at Carnegie Hall on June 29. His passion and talent for music has taken him to serve the local community via many forms, including his participation in Prima Corda, an all-sophomore string quartet to share the music with senior citizens, special needs children, city human services workers and at venues to help raise funds for the school district’s PSO.
