Project Pride seeks volunteers and offers many recycling options
Community members are invited to participate in the annual roadside clean-up event, Project Pride, on Saturday, April 26, held rain or shine. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon. Volunteers are asked to meet at Revere High School, 3420 Everett Rd., to check in, pick up instructions, receive road assignments and gather safety supplies.
Volunteers 18 and over willing to supervise student groups must indicate their interest by registering through surveymonkey.com/r/QP68JN3. Registration through the Survey Monkey link is also requested for community members, or others who plan to participate in the event. For roadside pick-up questions, call Bath Township Administration at 330-666-4007.
Tree saplings and children’s seed planting
9-10 a.m.
On the same day as the community roadside clean up, Richfield Village is offering a tree sapling giveaway at the Town Hall pavilion. There will be nine varieties of trees to choose from while they last.
Also in the pavilion from 9-10 a.m., Richfield Civic Organization is sponsoring a kids’ seed-planting project and Chris Chaney, Summit County Metro Parks’ biologist, will answer questions about “Wild Back Yards.” Re-usable bags will be given out.
Electronic and clothing recycling and document shredding
9 a.m.-noon
• Document shredding and electronics and old clothing recycling will be held on the same day at the Town Hall parking lot. Cracked televisions and monitors, refrigerators, washers and dryers will not be accepted for electronic recycling. Pre-shredded or wet paper, x-rays and file folders will not be accepted for shredding. All washed clothing, in any condition will be accepted.
• Secure drug disposal will be available at the police department. Everything should be in containers with personal information blacked out. Syringes cannot be accepted.
Free humus and wood chips
9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The village is offering free humus and wood chips at the service building, located at 3921 Brecksville Road. Bring your own truck, trailer or buckets and the service department staff will assist with loading.Recycling services provided during Project Pride are free of charge to Richfield and Bath residents.
