School board members earn awards from state association
Four North Royalton City Schools board members were recognized at this year’s Ohio School Boards Association spring conference in Warren.
Board President Dr. John Kelly and Vice President Anne Reinkober earned the Award of Achievement, presented to 68 of 3,400 school board members in the state. It recognizes commitment to training and leadership.
Kelly, a board member since 2012, has been involved in band and baseball boosters at the schools and has served as a guest lecturer. He is recipient of the PTA State Achievement Award and Lifetime Achievement Award and the North Royalton Friend of Education Award. He is an OSBA master board member.
Reinkober, a board member since 2008, has served on each board committee and is a past president. She is a two-time recipient of the Award of Achievement. Her involvement in the schools includes being president of PTA Council and as a member of the district’s financial advisory and audit committee for over 10 years.
Board member Jacquelyn Arendt received the Master Board Member award, given to eight board members annually. To be considered, the awardee must have first earned the Achievement Award and completed many professional development workshops and activities. It is a lifelong recognition.
Arendt, an alumna of North Royalton High School, was elected to the board in 2013 and 2017. She is the North Royalton representative to the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center board. She has served as president, chairperson and trustee for the North Royalton Association for Gifted and Talented and the North Royalton Educational Foundation.
