Congratulations to the St. Barnabas School Academic Challenge teams. The eighth-grade team (Megan Crowe, Annie Fuhrer, Salvatore Laguardia and Brayden Perry) won the junior high divisionof the Heritage Classical Academy’s National Academic Quiz Tournament with a record of 8-0, beating Revere Middle School in the championship round to take home the first-place trophy. The team qualifies for nationals in May. So proud of these students!

The sixth-grade team (Angel Commager, Madison DeFrank, Dani Ferree, Sean Mack, Ben Vasas, Michael Wolff and Kylee Zamecnik) took home the first-place trophy for the elementary division.

Congratulations also go to Haylee Holt, who won the Miss Congeniality award and was runner-up for Miss Akron Canton.

Pam Letterle, intervention specialist (and class of 1980 alumnus) at Nordonia High School was one of the Akron Beacon Journal’s Making the Grade: Difference Makers in October.

The Sagamore Hills Police Department is currently selling raffle tickets and accepting donations to benefit its annual “Shop with a Cop” program. For tickets, contact Patrolman Dan DeCrane, at 330-468-3515 or stop by the police station.
