Revere basketball player joins exclusive club

Adison Novosel is a dominating presence on Revere High School’s girls basketball team.
How dominating? In three of the team’s six games, she has scored half or more of the Lady Minutemen’s points.
In a 59-52 loss to Highland on Dec. 9, Novosel scored 26 points to push her career total to 1,036. She is one of only five Revere girls to reach the 1,000-point milestone. Kori Rorabaugh was first to do it in 1990; Casey Nance was next in 2008, Caitlin Vari in 2015 followed by Camryn Brown in 2016.
Novosel scored 29 points in a 56-48 defeat to Walsh a week later to give her 1,065 career points.
“Adison is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever coached,’’ said head coach Dan Brown. “It doesn’t matter if it’s taking the final shot of a game or finishing a drill in practice, her work ethic and her striving to always be the best sets the tone for our entire program.’’
Novosel is a 5-foot-11 shooting guard. She is averaging 21 points and 6.5 rebounds this season and has shown statistical improvement in each of her three seasons. She averaged 14.1 points as a sophomore and 16.5 the following season.
Last season, Novosel made the All-Suburban League American Conference first team and first team All-Northeast Inland District, as well as special mention All-Ohio.
In November, she committed to playing at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa., where she will compete in the Division I Northeast Conference.
