Rethinking with ReWorks – ReWorks’ Programs & Services for Summit County

ReWorks offers programs to Summit County residents to properly handle various materials. We’ve also included our event flyer for you to clip out and use as a reference and you can visit www.summitreworks.com for information.

Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center (HHWRC) – For our 27th year, we are excited to offer the residents of Summit County options for household chemicals, such as oil-based paint, batteries, used mo­tor oil and pesticides that can be brought to the HHWRC on Thursdays from 2-7 p.m. between June and the end of September.

We also accept cooking oil as well as tires. Tires are the only item we charge for, and the cost is a $1 cash-only fee per tire with a limit of 10 tires per vehicle. The tires can be on or off the rims and must be from a car or light passenger truck.

The program is for Summit County residents only and the material must be generated by a Summit County resident from home use.

Document Shredding and Recycling Events – Summit County residents and businesses can bring their confidential paper documents to be shredded and recycled to any of the ReWorks Document and Shredding Events. ReWorks offers this service at multiple locations throughout the county.

We ask that you limit what you bring to 10 file boxes or paper bags. Please remove plastic report covers and paper clips, but staples can remain. The documents are shredded on-site and are recycled. No household hazardous waste is accepted at any of the shredding events.

Electronics Collection – ReWorks will be holding an electronics collections event exclusively for Summit County residents. Materi­als accepted include TVs (CRT 32” and below and flatscreens under 50”), cell phones, laptops and tablets. Limit two TVs per household. You do need to pre-register for this event. Things to remember when utilizing ReWorks’ programs and services in 2022:

  1. At ReWorks’ events, place all materials in your vehicle’s trunk or the back of your truck/SUV.
  2. As always, please remain in your vehicle.
