While answering a medical call on Scotswood Circle, a fire medic observed a neighbor attempting to back into his garage. His first attempt took him onto the lawn. On his second attempt he hit the house. Using those two reference points, his third attempt was perfect. He used a grill and the back wall to stop. He blew a .149.
The owner of a trucking company in California stated one of his trucks had been parked in the rest area on I-271 SB for three days and he couldn’t reach the driver. Officers gained entry into the cab and discovered why the unresponsive man hadn’t been answering his phone.
A Streetsboro Road woman having trouble evicting her sister and mother from a house she owns asked an officer to be present when she served an eviction notice. Her sister said although her mother was in the hospital, their move was almost complete.
Police stopped a Honda Odyssey with a cracked windshield. The occupants were on their own odyssey from Texas to Akron in search of the woman’s daughter. She was said to be traveling in the company of a group of motorcycle enthusiasts with the ominous appellation “Devil’s Rejects.” A search revealed a vehicle laden with rubbish, a “robust amount of possessions” and a foul odor exclusive of the smell of dog urine. They were released on the promise never to return.
A male employee at a local truck stop stated he is the victim of a pattern of verbal harassment. A female co-worker calls him names and threatens to beat him down. He was advised to have corporate handle it.
Volunteers at the Richfield Heritage Park still don’t play nice together. During a conversation about ordering supplies, the man raised his voice whereupon the woman felt threatened and wanted the incident documented.
A former employee of a local supermarket stopped to buy peanuts. After a testy back and forth with a fellow customer, he left the store muttering, “I will take you all out.” An officer was called and told him he had been 86’d from the property.
A man stated his wife and been receiving harassing phone calls and supplied the name and number of the caller. An officer called the perpetrator and was told the woman was his girlfriend and he would continue to call her.
A resident on Richlawn Drive stated his neighbor was at his back door claiming her boyfriend was harming her. The boyfriend stated she had opened his personal mail and he waved his hands in frustration just before she ran to the neighbor’s. It was decided he would go to work, while she stayed home. He asked officers to note the condition of his home in case she became destructive in his absence. Time 10:15 p.m.
For the second month in a row, a local man was observed at an abandoned house on Hart Road. Last month he received a warning and was asked to leave. This time he was cited for criminal trespassing.
Meanwhile back at the motel:
There was a report of a car racing through the parking lot and doing donuts. On arrival, police encountered two underage boys and two underage girls. In their rented room, officers located an 18-year-old male and three more girls. The 18-year-old faced several charges including false ID and underage drinking. Parents as far away as Youngstown were called to retrieve their children. Alcohol and raging hormones were involved.
A guest from Tunisia called from the hospital to complain his wife hit him on the head with a bag of quarters. ∞
