The Superintendent’s Corner – Dana Addis

Hello, Hudson Explorers! By the time you read this, it will already be August, and the start of a new school year will be fast approaching.

We have been actively preparing for our students and staff to be back on campus.  Students in grades one through nine will start back on Wednesday, Aug. 16, along with the first group of kindergarten students (last names A through L). On Thursday, Aug. 17, grades 10-12 will begin, along with the second group of kindergarten students (last names M through Z). All kindergarten students will be together on Friday, Aug. 18.

All families with children in the Hudson City School District will receive a postcard in the mail with important open house dates. I want to include those here so our families can start to plan for the new school year.

I encourage you to take time to enjoy family time for the next couple of weeks. These lazy days of summer seem to fly by. Before too long, you will have the challenge of getting children back on a schedule. There will be plenty of athletic and extracurricular activities, in addition to schoolwork, to fill up your calendars.

The start of a new school year is always exciting! As I begin my second year with Hudson City Schools, I look forward to getting to know even more of our district’s families. If you see me out and about, please feel free to say hello! ∞
