Candidates file petitions for local offices

Candidates for the local offices of Richfield Village mayor and council, Richfield Township trustee and fiscal officer, and Revere Local School Board of Education filed petitions in August to be on the November 7 ballot.

Michael Wheeler is completing his four-year term as mayor of the village, and is unopposed in running for a second term. Due to term limits, he may not seek a third consecutive term.

The terms of three village councilmembers – Sue Ann Philippbar, Charles Boester and Bobbie Beshara – expire in January. All three are seeking re-election and challenging them are Marty Kruszynski and Jay Lawrence Nye. Three will be elected.

Richfield Township Trustee Janet Jankura is seeking re-election and no one is challenging her. Vik Sandhu is challenging Laurie Pinney for the office of township fiscal office.

Five candidates are running for three seats on the Revere school board. Incumbents are Claudia Mendat Hower, Diana Sabitsch and Courtney Stein. Challengers are Natalie Rainey and Kasha Brackett. Stein was appointed to fill out the remainder of an unexpired term through December 2023. ∞
