Dosen exhibits transparency, fiscal conservatism

To the Editor:

I am writing to show my support for Mark Dosen’s re-election to the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education. Mark has served on the board for the past 12 years and currently serves as president of the board today.

As board members, each of us brings a unique perspective to how we serve the community in our roles. Mark is often described as the “fiscal conservative” on the board. He cares about the board’s fiscal responsibility to taxpayers. Mark’s focus on the district’s financial forecast is an asset to the board, not a detriment. However, Mr. Dosen provides more in his service to the district than just his financial acumen.   Here is what I also know of Mr. Dosen and his service to our school district in my time serving with him:

• He cares about education. Mark is focused on continuing to provide a high quality, well rounded one to the students of the BBHCSD. He affirmatively votes to provide resources, this includes staff that are recommended by the superintendent and needed for our kids.  
• Mark is transparent.  I implore community members to watch a board meeting if you have heard otherwise.  Mr. Dosen provides detail, historical context and clear communication around agenda items the board votes on.
• Mark continues to want to serve this community.  This school board continues to need his experience and his leadership. Please give him your vote on Nov. 7.
