April 29 special township trustees meeting

Full-time police officer Bill Alexander was promoted to sergeant in the Bath police department, effective April 29.

Police Chief Vito Sinopoli said Alexander came to the department in November 2016 and has been a field-training officer. β€œHe serves as a leader in the department and his demeanor and professionalism define him,” said Sinopoli.

Bath police also entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Organized Drug Enforcement Task Force, a Summit County team made up of officers from several law enforcement organizations. Sinopoli said the task force periodically asks for assistance and surveillance from Bath police and pays overtime compensation for the officers involved.

In park news, the township contracted with Summit Excavating to install a $46,500 septic system for the on-site home at North Fork Preserve on Everett Road. The same company will provide miscellaneous work at NFP for $15,400, including moving dirt to accommodate the septic system. ∞
