Trustees Corner by Trustees Monique Ascherl, Cyntia Engleman & Jack Swedyk

It’s swimming pool season and a reminder that all in-ground and above- ground permanent or semi-permanent (for seasonal use) swimming pools having a depth of 2 feet or more of water require permits. There are also yard-setback requirements. If you have questions please contact the township zoning inspector at 330-278-4181.

Now Hiring

We recognize and agree that as our township’s needs continue to change and grow, that a full-time zoning inspector position is necessary to service our community. Permitting, field inspections and investigating complaints are important and time-consuming activities necessary for ensuring our township’s zoning regulations are properly followed and enforced. The position description is posted on the township’s website, hinckleytwp.org, and applications are being accepted until the position is filled.

The township has contracted for the reconstruction of the east wall of the old fire station in the administration building.  This will include substantial energy improvements with insulation upgrades and replacement of the old bay doors with energy-efficient windows.  Work is expected to begin in the next several weeks. Additionally, we have applied for a community development block grant to remodel the bathrooms in the senior room. These updates are necessary and will ensure ADA compliance. More information will be announced in the coming months. We have also approved the repaving of Maple Hill and Ridge cemetery roadways as these have become very bumpy and cracked over the years.

Happy Birthday, America!

The Township will host our first Fourth of July Parade on Thursday, July 4, at 9 a.m. We will begin at the Hinckley Prep Academy and continue to town hall for some fun activities and refreshments. Decorate your bikes, golf carts, four wheelers tractors or cars and join in the fun. Please contact admin@hinckleytwp.org for additional information or to register for the parade.
